Okay, you want to take a screenshot of a program menu, but everytime you press the printscreen button on the keyboard, the menu vanishes! Eh?
I have just found a workaround for this and I'd like to share with everyone.
1. Open the program of which you wish to take the screenshot and make the window ready.
2. Now switch to another empty desktop workspace and open GIMP (Applications->Graphics->GIMP image editor).
3. In GIMP, press File--> Acquire--> Screenshot

4. If you want to take a shot of just that window, select "a single window", or if you want to take a shot of the entire screen, select "the whole screen"
5. Now, whatever option you have selected (window or whole screen), set time delay to 10 seconds (or less if you're quick enough :cool:) and click GRAB.
6. The GIMP will take the screenshot after ten seconds and show you to edit!
7. Last but not the least, save the document. I frequently save it on the desktop to send as attachment to emails etc.
Tip (Thanks to Aysiu): If you take screenshots on a regular basis, you can create a shortcut for taking screenshots on your panel. Right click on the panel, and click "add to panel". Select custom application launcher, and in the command field, type gnome-screenshot --delay 5. This will take a screenshot of the entire screen after five seconds. In fact, I have made two buttons on my panel - one with a delay of 5 seconds, and the other with a delay of 10 seconds! Makes life much easier! :)
