I know there are posts on sound like every few minutes, but I have looked and have not been able to find a way to fix my problem.

Here is the deal, i have my headphones plugged in (via USB) and my speakers plugged in (via the green sound out port on my motherboard), yet all of the sound that comes out of my applications (games, music player, ect.) only comes out on my headphones. And the system sounds, like the startup sound and any sound from the internet all comes through my desktop speakers. I have played around with the sound settings some (gnome-volume-control, and the sound options), but I cant seem to fix it. I have also tried unplugging my headphones, but i still cant get sound from my applications to come out of my desktop speakers!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Doule-Click on the "Volume Control" icon next to the clock/network. A new window will pop-up " Volume Control: HDA Intel (Alsa Mixer) you need to check all your volume setting. make sure speaker and headphone volume is up.
