[SOLVED] Email Crashes X

Hello,
I have Ubuntu 8.04 on my Inspiron 1100.

The bug or issue today seems to be that everytime I check my email with either Evolution (came with Ubuntu 8.04 California ISO download) or with Thunderbird my whole X session crashes as if I hit ctrl+alt+bksp. This seems to happen after downloading the mail from sbcglobal.net and if it doesn't find any mail there to download it doesn't crash.

This actually started happening after my laptop went to standby while evolution was open. Thats why I installed Thunderbird to see if it would help.

Any suggestions would be nice.

I think I may have fixed the prob. I opened synaptic package manager and removed evrything with Evolution in it. Then I had to reinstall ubuntu-desktop witch added several other programs as well. But after that I sent myself a test message from Gmail and when I checked my mail with thunderbird it didn't crash my X.

I'll leave this open for a day or two to be sure and then mark this as solved.
