usb edge modem not detected by wvdial

Hi,

I have a mobidata usb edge modem. When I plugged it in first time and run wvdialconf , it detected it. Then I configured wvdial.conf to my needs but it did not connect. Now i am trying to run wvdialconf again and every time it says no modem is detected :confused:

The modem is found in lsusb command too. :confused:

The modem runs fine under vista.

have you considered using network manager 0.7? it is included by default in 8.10 and will take care of gsm connections.

it may well be worth a look for you....

i'am using ubuntu 10.04 and my samsung S3310 is not detected by wvdialconf.
pls help me. wat to do?
