LOL, never seen a bunch of Ubuntu users look so scared.

Sudo is already installed, it must be configured is all. Fedora uses "wheel" rather then "admin".

thank you for the serious reply....as for the others, this is a beginners forum, we are using fedora ubuntu mostly from the command line and not gui. so i'm assuming the coding is somewhat the same and no matter what platform i try or am advised to try seems to be the wrong choice to the other side of the room.
just trying to learn the basics is all
yhank you

Campusgray, we would be more than happy to help you with getting familiar with Ubuntu

Fedora, though, is a different operating system. They are both 'flavours' of Linux, but they are not the same thing.

Unless i'm mistaken?

The answers WERE serious. Ubuntu and Fedora are not all that similar in many ways. They use different package systems to install software, and they have much different default configurations.

As has been said, sudo is installed already for you, but you need to configure your user as a sudoer. This type of advice, though, is irrelevant in an Ubuntu forum.

There are many Fedora forums available, and those are the best place to ask questions about the configuration of your Fedora system.

You may get an answer here, but you'll likely get the BEST answers from people that are regularly using the distro (or at least the distro family) that you are asking about.

Moved to the Fedora Section.

While it is true the Fedora forms may be the "best" source of information, some people may be more comfortable with the Ubuntu community for any number of reasons.

I know you all have nothing but the best of intentions so sets keep the discussion friendly and helpful, no need to make the Ubuntu community look bad :)
