Greetings. My name is Greg Snowdon and I have being tinkering with Ubuntu for a few months now. Started with Hoary, now onto Breezy. Can't get any sound out of this system although I did orginally manage to get some from Hoary. I tried reinstalling Hoary only to find it too had been struck dumb!, so I might as well have a silent Breezy!!
Seems to be an issue with Ubuntu, but I'm sure the brainy folks will get the matter sorted.
And yes I have tried all the fixes on the various forums and the "Unofficial Ubuntu Guide".
I am a vetran Windows user but keen to gain more knowledge of Linux.
My home is in North Yorkshire, England. It's miserable weather, sleet and rain outside in the dark (it's now nearly 8.30pm).
Anyone got any good simple website/blogs on Ubuntu or Debian please let me know, but remember I'm a complete virgin on this type of system so an idiots guide would be good.
See you in the forumshttp://ubuntuforums.org/images/smilies/icon_surprised.gif
