i have an acer 1522lmi with a wireless card. i know i can use ndiswrapper for this but there is no 64-bit package. has anyonemade one or how could i get it running on my laptop?:confused:

If you use the classic (32 bit) Ubuntu distribution then ndiswrapper works just fine .
If you use the version for AMD64 then I think there is a problem with ndiswrapper .
I own an acer1524 (AMD64) and I use the 32 bit version of Ubuntu and wireless works just fine !

all he did was install the 32bit version of Ubuntu rather than the 64bit version... you don't have to install the 64bit version just because you have a 64bit processor.
So in other words... install the 32bit Ubuntu then you can use ndiswrapper without a problem...

Just installed wifi for Ubuntu Breezy 5.10 AMD64 | Acer Aspire 5021WLMi
aspire_1520/driver/winxp64bit/acer80211g (ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_1520/driver/winxp64bit/acer80211g.zip) I dont know if this is the right file?
I installed it with this guide.
