Hey guys,
I know this is an Ubuntu forum, but I thought I'd see if anyone could help me. I've had great success with my Ubuntu questions here.
So, I just assembled 2 new identical computers. Here are their specs
2.5 ghz core 2 duo
2 Gb ddr2 (800)
500 Gb hdd
gforce 8400 GS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121235
Running windows xp, unfortunately
The point is that these systems should have no trouble running a dvd, but I can't get them to play without stuttering. I suspect it might be the video card, or it's settings, but even after tweaking the card settings, there is still jittering.
I've tried various dvd players too.
1.) power DVD (came with dvd drive, so it's slim version)
2.) vlc
3.) windows media player
all exibited the same jitteriness. So, does anyone have any ideas? I got the same problem on the second computer which has the exact same hardware, so I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
