A Thinkpad R61i in very good condition.

It has:

Core 2 Duo processor
2 GB RAM
160 GB hard disk
DVD +RW
15.4" screen
Ubuntu with DVD playback, flash, vlc. 64 bit.

It is almost exactly one year old (the model).

It has Ubuntu installed, and the disks for restoring Windows to factory condition are included (but it doesn't include a Windows disk).

It cost ~$900-1000, but will take best offers ($600 - 700)

How much are you looking for ideally?

Not exactly sure and I would be flexible. It is new, but without its original Vista (not a problem to most here I think).

Everything works (except the finger print reader, but it can be made to work, fingerprints are not secure, and I would never recommend one use it).

I would say $500 to $700.

I can. For the money, I'd ship it anywhere that I can.

Now I am confused.

That Dell is not the same computer (obviously), and its pricing is listed clearly. What are you wondering about USA costing?

We use US Dollars (conversion calcs online, use google).

Heheh Sorry I know you guys use US Dollars :). I was more wondering how this was cheaper then your second hand laptop, almost better specs.?

You are wondering about why the price of a 1 year Thinkpad isn't lower than a weak Dell?

If you want to propose a price, I'm open for haggling.

I cant make you an offer sorry. (Lack of funding and would cost to much to ship to RSA)

I was just wondering are Thinkpads really so much better?

only laptops Dell produce that can be compared to Thinkpads is the Latitude series which is approx equally priced (here at least)
