Untimely new patch for WoW

I do realize there are countless wow in WINE posts out there, but i'm hoping this is one of the first associated with 3.0.2 that came out on 10/14. I was able to update and download the patch fine, albeit longer of a download than i wanted, and it installed fine as well. As i went to log in, every text box that would appear, and any interactive fields are completely blank, there is no background terrain, though there is fog and other animated details. I have judged my way around the log in screen due to a sad memorization of it, and i cannot get a legible field to display for me. if any specs of my computer are needed, please PM me with how to get them out of my laptop, i'm relatively new at ubuntu.

Is this due to the new WoW patch or the new Wine (1.1.6)?

First, as stated above, which version of wine are you on?
Then, have you just looked around in the game or did you stay online for longer then 30 minutes?

It took about 20 minutes on my wife's windows machine to get everything the way it should be (e.g. other characters showing up, loading of the realm characters ....). It didn't take any longer on my ubuntu and wine 1.1.5 desktop.
