Hey.
Let me cut to the chase.
I have an Acer Aspire 5610 laptop running Vista Home Premium (and Ubuntu Linux...Windows is mostly for gaming and network file sharing). I can successfully run AOE II: The Conquerors with compatibility mode and administrator mode on. There is a new household HP running Vista Home Premium that I am planning on setting the game up on with hopes of playing LAN games against someone there (I know how to get it working with no CD, and yes, I DO own original CDs). We have a Dell wireless-b router that is not encrypted.
I was wondering if I should just plug my laptop into the router, unplug the inernet connection, turn off the firewalls, and go, or if there are other steps I should take to make a swift connection that the game will recognize.
Help with this would be appreciated.
