Hi all,
I don't know in which thread I read but one of the threads told me that if your mouse and keyboard gets broken then go to a virtual terminal and install this package xserver-xorg-input-evdev-1.1.20-1ubuntu2 I installed and my keyboard and mouse are working for the moment :)
Although it also resulted into x11-common not being able to be configured as can be seen 283052 :(
