Volume buttons not working on Thinkpad in Intrepid

I'm now running the latest version of the 8.10 beta (2.6.27-7), and my dedicated keyboard volume buttons haven't worked since I moved to 8.10 (via a fresh install). I have a Thinkpad t60p. I do recall that the sound card was not automagically detected with the original 2.6.27-4 kernel that I originally installed (sound does work in 2.6.27-7).

Any thoughts? Otherwise I'm going to go open a bug.

I just noticed that volume is indeed changing, but it's not showing the fancy volume popup and it's not changing any of the sliders in the notification bar.

I pulled down the updates from this morning, and whatever changed appears to have fixed this issue.
