Has anyone seen the Microsoft TV commercials that are sort of a parody of the Mac commercials? A vast variety of people saying "I'm a PC"? (The boxer yells "YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?")
I was talking to the Microsoft Certified tech boys on my job and they love the commercial. I told them I'm a PC and I use Ubuntu. They were laughing- they think Linux is a big joke, and I must have a lot of spare time. (But they play shooter video games for hours)
I pinned them down and got them to admit they've never actually used a Linux Desktop OS. I'm not bashing, I just find it interesting- that Linux is like a religious heresy to them, not rejected on any objective basis. Anyone know why that is? Is it simply monetary? I read in a UK Linux magazine that Microsoft considers Linux a virus. True?

If the public hears there's an OS they can use on a PC that's not Windows, that's free and (in some distros cases) they can be easily installed, MS is in huge trouble.

So they have to keep making Linux out to be a joke or way too technical to be setup.

You know what I find hilarious? The microsoft TV commercial where they have the hidden camera set up, testing people's reaction to microsoft "Mojave", only to be told that it's actually Vista.

To me, that seems like they are saying, "Our OS has such a bad reputation that we have to TRICK people into using it!"

Hilarious.
