We have the 1420n with integrated mic - on hardy, it was necessary to use the dell backported kernel to get the integrated mic working, as described here

We are wondering if anybody has tried Intrepid on computers with this integrated digital mic -- Intepid 8.10 has many fixes in its kernel, and we're hoping to see if anybody knows if this problem is fixed in the upcoming version before giving the upgrade a go...
