No. OpenOffice 2.4.1.

will OO.o 3.0 be in the Hardy repos at some point, being that Hardy is the LTS release?

It is precisely because Hardy is the LTS release that they included the well-tested and stable OO 2.4. :)

I imagine 3.0 will be available through backports: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports

And of course you can download it from OO.o and install it yourself.

Actually Chris Cheney aka Calc has stated that OOo 3.0 might end up in intrepid main on release. Keep your fingers crossed.

From what I heard, it will only be in the backports.

Actually my fingers are crossed that they don't rush to include the latest version of something as important to a distro's success as an office suite with only 2 weeks' testing. :)

+1 I'd prefer to wait for the backports. And it wouldn't be a long wait.

Calc opened his ppa August 13 and a lot of us has been testing.

I have not seen any issues except KDE4 trouble, but they should probably run KOffice.

This will just end up in a mess when the majority just want to run OO 3.0, broken PCs and double installs.

Another OOo 3.0 thread?! This needs to be merged with the other 2 or 3.

Being in main does not mean it is installed by default. It just means it is available for those who want to use it on release. This would clearly be the best solution, IMO.

Well... this is the challenge.

So include OO 3.0 :)
