NetworkManager: My biggest gripe right now is that XP's connection schmuck doesn't sit in the taskbar at startup nor does it show when it needs to.
If anyone has a workaround for this I would be very appreicative.
Solved. Issue lies elsewhere.
System Monitor GNOME applet: I suppose anything that sits in the taskbar and monitors my CPU/RAM/HDD/Net/etc. usage would be great.

I'll probably update this post with more gripes as my use of XP goes on, but that's all for now.

for the network manager: be sure to check the "show in system tray when connected or something similar" in the Properties section of the aforementioned connection.
and for the second....maybe this will help: http://www.download.com/1770-2001_4-0.html?query=system+monitor&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads
if not, google is your friend ;)

It's already checked...
The problem is that whenever I restart it, I would need to unplug and then plug back in the network card.
Oh well, not so much of a problem.

As for the second issue, is anyone experienced with that app?
I installed it, but I want to know how I would go about preventing the window from showing up yet keeping the tray notifications running...
