This is my first time installing ubuntu on a fully cleaned hard drive. I did a full cleaning of the drive and now I an getting some sort of error that is moving down the screen something like unable to read something, can't really make it out sorry. My question is if you have to run fdisk and format it before you try to install ubuntu, or does it do it for you.

The ubuntu installer will do it for you.

I had this problem once and it turned out to be scratches on the cd.
