I am using snes9x and my sound on all the games is borked. I have also used zsnes and I have the same problem, so I know it's not the emulator. Anybody got any ideas? I know, I know, who wants to hear the low bitrate noise, but it bugs me... Plus, Super metroid just isn't the same without sounds.;)

$ sudo apt-get install snes9xexpress
Then just run snes9xexpress, this has some nice sound things to make it sound better.:)

Cool, I will give it a go. I had it installed already, but hadn't used it.

I have sound problems with ZSNES on slower machines as well... are you running on a decent rig?

All applications don't add themselves to Gnome Menu. Open a terminal and type 'snes9express'. If that works, you can add it to menu using Applications/System Tools/Menu Editor, or you can make a desktop/panel launcher for it yourself. Right-click on desktop and select 'Create Launcher' or righ-click on panel, select 'Add to panel' and then 'Custom Application Launcher'.

As I said, run snes9express,
$ snes9express
Or make a new menu or panel launcher.

i fix it by just changing the frequency over and over until it works. kinda jerry-rig but it eventually will work, just never turn it off :)

Hi,
I am new to snes9express... but good news is that I have managed to get it to work within 10 min of figuring out the buttons... however, the bad news is, there is just no sound in my games... oh, what is Street Fighter without the "arh-you-ken"s? :lolflag:
I have tried "$ aoss snes9express" thinking it is an ALSA vs. OSS issue, but alas, it did not solve the problem...
Any ideas?
