View Full Version : wineasio works with no drivers!

I have reaper + wineasio installed, wine version 1 (1.1.5 broke reaper so I locked it at this)

Things work fine, but it turns out that things work fine even when I have NO audio driver selected in winecfg. It also works if I have only jack selected, with no jackd running.

My guess is that this configuration is being ignored entirely. In which case, how does everything work?

I tried googling for this but it appears that I'm the only person in the world whose problem is that wineasio works!

Of course this isn't directly a problem. But I suspect this may be a cause for my real problem (which I had made a thread about a while back) which is that I cannot lower my input level. Even if I mute input from the alsa mixer, my input levels in reaper are still too high.

Again, google seems to say that I'm the only person whose problem is that the input levels are too high :)

Any idea how to fix this?

Edit: Sorry for the double post (ISP hiccups). How do I delete this?
