HI,
I am new to ubuntu, i tried installing ubuntu on my AMD 64 with SATA 80GB HDD on an existing xp machine. But the OS setup didnot detect my SATA hard disk partitions and threw error message no root file system defined.Usually i have to do a third party install for SATA RAID device using a floppy while installing XP , do i have to do the same for ubuntu.Does ubuntu support SATA
drivers?I am not able to proceed from the PARTITION DISK MENU of the setup and would like to dual boot with XP.I have FAT32 partitions and i believe ubuntu iteslf creates swap and ext2 partitions so i dont have to use partition magic 8.
CAN ANY BODY PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM.I WANT TO LOAD LINUX URGENTLY AND AM NOT GETTING PROPER GUIDANCE
