View Full Version : iMac G3 live CD problems...

I am trying to try the live version of Ubuntu on an iMac G3 with Mac OS 9.2.2. I hold 'c' at startup, but no luck...It doesn't aknowledge that I even pressed 'c'. Help?

Very possible your G3 doesnt like CD-R. Mine (iMAC 333) can't read them reliably. I wasted quite a few experimenting with no success. With pressed CDs, it has no problems what so ever. My solution was to order the FREE CDs.

well, i got linux installed anyway. thanks though! im on that computer right now, and it works great.

I'm on a G4 and insert the Live CD - and nothing happens. Can one start Live CD from the Mac's Terminal.

did you hold down C during boot?

did you burn the iso to cd, or just put the iso as a file on the cd?

I also had problem to boot with breezy on cd-r on mine iMac G3 500MHz but the "real" cd works.
