Evolution is ok...not so much in Thunderbird via Ubuntuzilla

Brand new to the Ubuntu community so thanks in advance. I have successfully configured Evolution with my gmail (imap) account and everything works great. Having used and loved Thunderbird in the Windows environment, I installed Ubuntuzilla via scripts. Thunderbird is configured correctly and every time it opens I get the "Failed to connect to server imap.gmail.com" error message. I've tried removing and adding the account a few times and double (triple) checking the server info to no avail. I'm hoping its something simple that i'm missing. Anythoughts?

Just to be sure, could you post exactly what your settings are in thunderbird, maybe you're missing something?
