Hello to all of you

I'm a poor artist and would like to do something to help the Ubuntu project giving money I can't afford but I wonder if it would not be possible for some artist to contribute a piece of art to be auctioned by Ubuntu or someone else with the proceeds going to Ubuntu.

I would be willing to donate a handcarved ironwood cane which took over 400 hours to carve. My work has been presented to various dignataries and have been used for fundraising events to help artist that have a mental disability my work has been viewed by many and is allways commented on as a lost art. I belong to an North American stickmaker *** and of all the members I'm the only one carving this wood (the hardest wood known to this planet) by hand so lets hear from some of you for ideas and how we could do this:)

That sounds really cool, my friend. Do you have a website or maybe just some pictures you can upload? I'd love to see some of your work.

As for your specific Ubuntu-related idea...why not just auction/sell your project(s) yourself and then donate the money?

I think it would be more effective if many artists donate their art and have a giant auction lets see if others would like to participate:smile:

I am dissapointed that there appears to be a lack of interest from Umbuntu user to get involved in this I think it would make some money for more development and the world would find out that Ubuntu is alive and well around the world and supported by its users.

I have allways donated one of my carvings to an organzation for a fund raiser this year I have all ready donated a handcarved ironwood cane to one group and normally that would be it for the year, but since I started using Ubuntu I am willing to donate one more this year now think about it it takes anywhere from 300 to 400 hours of work to do this. I know many programers and support staff including the forum druids put in many hours and I thank them for this. But there are many out there that could contribute in other ways whats better then artist around the globe getting their art togetter and show it to the world and give exposure to Ubuntu and yes the artists as well, I hope that my faith in humanity will hold , I thank you in advance:-({|=
