Steam Problem

I used the newest v. of Wine, and the installation and Steam update went fine. But once Steam loads into a window after a few seconds I get this message:

"Steam.exe (main exception) Win 32 structured exception at 7D4BFB71: Attempt to read from virtual address 88 without appropriate access rights."

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated considering this is the last obstacle in finally kicking MS to the curb (sort of).

ah so your saying Wine?

I don't think you'll get very far just using wine for 3D based games.. Why not try using Cedega?
