Hi, my problem is this, having recently installed ubuntu 8.04, and having my screen resolution set at 1024x768 on a fairly big screen(22"), when i switched on this morning the resolution had changed to 800x600 with no option to change to a greater size, as you can imagine that looks huge on a 22" screen,so any help/advice will be much appreciated and thanks in advance, perhaps i should point out i also have windows installed on the same pc and the greater resolution remains unaffected.

there is an application for this, right click on your menu and select "edit menu's"
after your menu editor opens under utilities click on the box that has the words "screens and graphics" on it
This application once unhidden might be able to help.

Hello SunnyRabiera, many thannks for your very speedy reply, but having noticed that the pc seemed to be behaving a bit odd i rebooted and all screen options returned, maybe i should have done that before posting, DUH, thanks again your help is much appreciated.
