Need for Speed Most Wanted?

Hey folks,

anyone able to run NFS:MW with Cedega? I know the demo works fine, but I can't get the retail installer work. :(

It starts fine, and goes until I enter the serial number, but after this it complains about the missing DirectX 9.0c... I found this wierd, since the demo (which uses the same engine of course) runs just fine with a plus dll downloaded.

But the game itself doesn't.

Any suggestions or known workarounds?

So does it install, then complain when you run, or does it complain before it extracts the files? What you could do, if it dosn't extract the files, is extract them manually and recreate the directry structure, that may work.

I have same problem installing NFS Most Wanted with Cedega 5.0.1
Debug messages say something about missing mscoree.dll file and then installer wants to install Directx 9.0c but you can't install directx with cedega and installation stops:S

But if I extract game files manually then how do I generate Directory Structure???

Well, the easiest way i've heared of doing it was just to install it in windows and copy everything over. I personally could never do this as i don't have windows on any of my computers, so if you're in the same situation, usually the compressed files that have the keep the structure intact, so just extracting can work, otherwise, ask a friend to install it, then write down the names of the directories. However, to save you guys some time, check out http://transgaming.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4523&highlight=speed seems someone already tried the cabextract method, and it still gave the same errors

It does start the install, the autorun.exe runs fine, asks for the serial key, and in the next step, where the actual installation would begin, it says the install can't continue, because the game needs DX9.0c or higher.
