View Full Version : What are the most frequently cited links on Ubuntu Forums?

In responding to various enquiries on this forum, I have amassed a small collection of "key links" - links to really useful, readable sites which I cite as guidance on the particular subject in question (and of course refer to myself at times). And I guess lots of people do likewise.

So it strikes me that, within the Ubuntu Forums, the more useful of such sites will be cited more often than less useful ones. So it would perhaps be a useful exercise to find out which are the most frequently cited links, both to sites within the forum and sites outside, especially if it were possible to apply some subject or keyword index to them.

Is this just a silly idea? Is it feasible?

Cheers, Pat.

This topic comes up from time to time. These are my top four at the moment.

http://ubuntuforums.org/index.php?page=policy
http://ubuntuforums.org/announcement.php?f=48 (especially the second post)
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=885589

I think the first one is similar to what you are thinking about.

Thank you X 2 for the feedback. I guess those links you quote would include many of the most frequently cited referral points in the forums. They certainly cover a lot of ground.

Cheers, Pat.

Over time, this forum has amassed a great amount of information. There are many attempts to get it indexed, mostly in stickies.

I suggest looking at the stickies in the Other OS Talk (covers Linux for low spec computers and how to make distros) as well.
