My favorite is Open Arena. I play mostly CTF games.

I don't like OA much at all. The graphics need work, But I can deal with that. The maps range from gimmicky to unplayable, which I can't deal with. I shouldn't be able to play any first-person shooter the way I can on OA, with one hand on the arrow keys and the other in a bag of chips. The saw is just plain overpowered, so all I have to do is switch to it, set something heavy on the "control" button, move around with the arrow keys, and win. There's no challenge in it.
Alien Arena version 7.2 is out in a matter of weeks, which trounces the crap out of the ancient version in the repositories. Get it at http://red.planetarena.org
