Changing GNOME main menu to say "Start"

Right now I have the GNOME main menu, the one with just the icon, and I would like for it to say "Start" next to the icon. I don't want "Applications/Places/System" I just want it to say start. How would I do that? I've seen it in a bunch of screenshots, but haven't been able to find anything telling me how to do it.
