[SOLVED] HELP- Error message in Update Manager

Ok I went into the update manager to see get any updates, only because I was trying to download LimeWire. NOW when I go into it I get an error message and it says:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

I have NO clue what to do now....HELLPPP!!!!!

Open a terminal window (Applications menu -> Accessories -> Terminal). Type the command that was recommended, exactly as it appears (you may want to cut & paste).
