Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've posted any problems, but to be honest I haven't had any problems to post up until about 5 days ago, when I decided I was man enough to upgrade to the alpha 6 build of intrepid ibex from my previous installation. Almost immediately I ran into some problems though, mainly that for some reason ubuntu can no longer handle power functions like supsend and hibernate. I fixed every other issue myself, but unfortunately I still can not suspend, and I would really like to get that working.
What happens is that it appears my laptop goes into suspend, but the cpu never slows down and the fan continues to spin, running the battery down. The battery also begins to get very hot, as if I had it running for quite some time. When I open up the screen, instead of prompting me for my password and getting out of suspend, I am treated with a blinking underscore ("_") in the top left corner, or sometimes just a blank screen (but you can tell the back light is on, it's just all black).
I guess I just don't know what changed between the upgrade, why should it work in 8.04 but not in 8.10? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

OH! Thankyou for moving it, I didn't see the Ibex discussion category!

I have a problem with the monitor going into suspend mode. It goes black then it flicks back to the desktop.

See this bug report #269693 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/269693) and maybe you can help to confirm it.
