Im wondering if anyone else experiences warm temps on the bottom of their laptop while using Ubuntu.

I have monitored the temp sensors on the graphics card (60C), cpuz (52C) and hdd (40C), but they all report normal temps (avg temps seen in parenthesis).

Its just that the bottom feels much warmer compared to when im using Vista.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks...

Things are feeling cooler now after the Intrepid install. Looks like the updates have cooled off my hardware :)

I have the idle temps of GPU 61 degrees and CPU on 45 degrees hhd on 39 degrees. If you want to lower your CPU temp, Id recommend undervolting it, worked for me :) (went down to 38-42 degrees idle)

I want to lower my GPU idle temp, any ideas?

You can also regulate the temp when the fan turn on or off.
But sounds like installing 8.1 resolved it.
