Good evening! I have an Optiplex GX260 w/ Edubuntu Hardy 8.04. I went into suspend today by accident I was actually meaning for it to go into screensaver so I could see a new screensaver I had installed. When I attempted to resume from suspend I noticed that the keyboards lights were out and it wasn't responding. The mouse still was functional, but it still wasn't responding for any of the mouse buttons. It was just a black screen no cursor with flickers every once in a while. I turned it off and back on and there was no changed I still had the black screen with no cursor and no response from my keyboard.
I use this computer for my daughter and educational purposes. Is there anyway to recover this PC?? I look forward to anyone's respond.

Sounds bad, try booting and hitting ESC at the Grub boot menu. Then boot into "recovery mode", and run the "fix x graphics server" from the menu that appears. You may have to tweak your screen resolution after this.

When I reboot it isn't showing anything on my monitor. I have a older monitor and it could be that the resolution isn't compatible. I haven't tried my LCD yet and I will try that tonight. One of the major problems I'm noticing is that my keyboard is not responding. Is there a work around for that?

Last night I tried my LCD monitor to see if there would be any difference and there wasn't any difference at all. Whenever I turn on the PC the busy light blinks and nothing is shown on the monitor and the keyboard is not responding. The mouse works but it isn't making any difference when I click it. There is only a blank black screen on my monitor. Is there anyway I can reset the motherboard or anything that would just bring it back to default settings so I can wake it back up from suspend. At this point I don't care about losing any data since there wasn't anything saved. I just want to bring it back so I can reinstall the OS if need be. I'm open for any options.
