I just tried Intrepid beta on an Advent 4211 (MSI wind clone) and find that the screen brightness keys (Fn-F4 and Fn-F5) are very unreliable. Laggy, and often takes several presses before they react at all. No such problem with Hardy.

I seem to be having a similar problem. When i unplug from power, if i press my hotkey for brightness (Fn Up Arrow) i have to press it the normal 2-3 times to get to full brightness... and then like a second later, it will just automatically revert to the unplugged brightness setting!
I dont know why it does it, because sometimes it will stay on bright for about 3-5 minutes like just now, i had it bright but it suddenly switched back to dim i dont really get it, why it keeps trying to go back to dim.
If i changed it to bright i wish it would stay that way, actually if someone in the forums could tell me how to set the power management to leave it "ALWAYS BRIGHT" no matter what i would like to keep it forever bright even on battery.

It's probably at least partially due to this:
