ive been looking around, but i cant find any answers...
what im trying to do is i want to have one server that holds all users and groups and their respective policies, and then i have multiple file servers, and i want to be able to bind all of those, so that i dont have to create users and groups and policies into each individual file server... how do i do that?
i found out about DFS and active directory but im not sure how it works, do i just setup a file server with a root/administrative full access account, then i add that server to the DFS and setup users and such at the dfs server and forget the remote file server exists pretty much, or i still have to sync each user and group from DFS to the file server
if the answer is active directory, how do i force a file server to query an active directory, or i add the server to the active directory or i donno lol

if anyone could help me out, break the confusion much appreciated...
some guides and how-tos would be extremely helpful

thank you
