Would adding a decent Graphics card (Nvidia, ATI) reduce the load on the CPU and improve the performance when rendering and encoding video?

I doing some basic video editing in Kino: Cut, add credits, add subtitles, fade-in/out, etc. And then exporting to DVD and MPEG.

When doing the rendering or encoding the CPU jumps to 100% and it sometimes takes too long.

I'm using the motherboard's integrated Graphics controler (Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller).

On this particular computer I have no other need for a decent Graphics card so if it would still use the CPU then I would rather upgrade the whole computer.

if i recall correctly Cinelerra is able to tap into the graphics card power for video editing, but i don't think Kino can.
