Are Ubuntu developers more responsive to security issues than Windows?

I think both are pretty responsive to security issues. The question seems very subjective ... (try and replace Ubuntu and Windows with Democrats and Republicans and see how it is a loaded question ... everyone wants to be responsive to security issues). I think windows/macs/ubuntu take security very seriously. Windows/Macs main method of fixing security issues is having a team of highly paid engineers out there working on fixing holes as they arise. Ubuntu/linux mainly taps the open source community, which as a whole fixes security issues as they arise. Both methods have advantages/disadvantages. I would say the open source community can respond quicker ... but don't have hard data showing that (and am quite possibly biased myself).

Have a look at this page:

The one thing I have to say is that Micosoft only releases security update once a month. When a security problem is found in Linux it is usually fixed within a day or two.
