Okay, I see schools and enterprise businesses that have a Login System where they can login from any computer (on the network) with the same username. They also can set restrictions, privileges, etc. I would like to know if there is some way to do that free with a home network.

While not the same thing, EyeOS (http://eyeos.com/)
is quite similar to what you are describing.

Thanks, I'm taking a look at the eyeOS. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction where I can get the LDAP server and client software at?

It also seems that the eyeOS demo is dead and the contact form is dead.

I saw this when I googled:

http://www.openldap.org/ (http://www.openldap.org/)

Its an open source LDAP

Yeah, I just want to be able to create a Domain and make a Group Policy for my Windows Network. I don't feel like paying 4,000 Dollars for Windows Server 2008.

Have a look at openldap as Kentanner11 stated it is the open source version og ldap that you would get with MS Server 2008
