hi there. I've got a homeserver with ubuntu here, all works, but now I'd like to setup a 2nd Desktop for tightVNC (to connect through the internet).

By default all I get is a blank desktop and a console. I'm able to load up the ubuntu gnome panel und nautilus through the console, but I'd like them the be there without the need to have a console open. TightVNC creates a 2nd desktop only visable for the computers connecting while still using the same users session.

currently my new desktop looks like this:

So how can I get the desktop to display what it's displaying, just without the open consoles? Since if I run the commands in the console, if I then close the console, the programms then quit aswell.

ok got it to work. there is a config file in the .vnc folder...
