low graphics mode... after i stupidly upgraded nvidia drivers

hello.

i stupidly upgraded my nvidia drivers.

now my box boots only into low graphics mode.

im running 8.04 ...i'd like to do a fresh install using 8.10 ... but keep the recordings that i have.

or as an alternative, get the video drivers back to where they were when i installed 8.04... and then upgrade from there.

is that possible?

The EnvyNG drivers are working for me at the moment. I'm using 8.04.1 64-bit.
