I have a dell desktop, ( about 1gb ram and pentium 4 ) and put in the Live Kubuntu cd it gets as far as the KDE startup screen, the blue flashs and the other icons then the screen blacks out and it starts back again - this just keeps on going.
I installed Ubuntu and then KDE4.1 ontop of it, same problem when i try to log in to KDE4.1 why?

There are three main explanations for such an occurrence, but your 1 GB of RAM excludes the first:

1. Not enough RAM to run the live CD
2. CD image got corrupted (during either the download or the burn process)
3. Faulty hardware

Thank you, i made a mistake actually is 760mb of ram but that still should do it? I dont think its the cd since i have used the cd on my laptop and connected to internet all on live KDE. Lastly the hardware, I am using XP fine, installed 8.10 beta no problem, and then installed kde ontop of gnome and when i try to boot into kde same problem again.
Maybe im wrong but that seems to exclude those three options, any other ideas?
I know its still a beta.
Thanks
