(1) I still don't see any sign of a virus there
(2) you only give little information as to what is stacking where
(3) you're definition of a virus is a bit... odd ;)

its stacking by filling up the task bar to like well it stacked to like i counted 100 up till i can catch up by closing and bring it down to 0 or 1 since it does not stop =S but i restarted/log out and its still happening...yeah your rite - no virus =S

Do you run pidgin or some other chat program? The error "cant retrieve buddy list" sounds like something to do with online chat. Something is probably messed up with the config of your chat program or the online account it uses such as MSN or yahoo.

Actually that's not correct. A virus (in computing terms) is so called because it is able to replicate itself and spread to other machines, just as a virus in the biological sense is. From what you describe, your problem has not came from and transfered to another machine.

well the funny thing is pidgin buddy list is ok and when i log out(computer) and log back its not set to start up but that error thing starts adding at start up =S i wouldnt mind since i close both task menus but the errors really cause lot undesired slow down. i am about to just erase the drive and install ubuntu again... its started after i downloaded a movie form limewire spiderwick.avi (sorry i dont remember the ip address) =S

I've never heard of any security issues on Ubuntu, but I do know that friends that use Limewire on Windows are always getting more than they bargained for in terms of malware. I've told all my freinds that as long as they are using Limewire on their machines, they can ask someone else to fix them when they break, because it was taking up too much of my time.

I can't say that I have ever heard of someone doing what you did, when you can just boot off of the livecd and run fsck. That is the way you would do it in windows. Remember Linux is not Windows, most of what you know about computers does not transfer to Linux.
