Unable to logon using preconfigured username.

Good Day,

I installed Ubuntu v8.04.1 and when prompted supplied a username and password. However, after the install is complete, I am logged in by default using the "Live session user" account. When I try to switch to another user account using the one that I previous specified during the install, the username is not found. What am I doing wrong?

Have you rebooted without the live CD in the drive? It sounds as if you may still be in live CD mode, which will not recognise any user except the live CD. Try again and if you still have the problem come back again.
