Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection

Can some Please, explain to me how to configur"Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection" to get Wifi works using ubuntu hardy heron..
THe ethernet works well, but wifi :no.... "it detects the server, but no internet"

weird... i have the same card and it works out of the box...

Can you go to the terminal and type iwconfig, then paste the results here? also, do the same with lspci

hardware-wise your card is working and associated to an access point called U1-HOUCHES.

Maybe it's a proxy issue? can you post the output of ifconfig?

Also, try doing: ping -c 4 64.233.161.99

and post the output here.

im gonna assume here that you did use the network manager to try and connect, if so, and if the icon shows its connected...
then i can be a number of things, are you using static ip for wireless, dhcp? do you know what these are?

thats preliminary questions of course.

intel wifi(at least, non 5x00 version) works ot fo the box in 8.04+ versions(in 7.10 they do too, but nm to that).

If you used the ping command when trying to connect with your wireless card then your card is working, and the problem must be something else on your network, since you can reach a server.

I can surf using WIFI... it works...
thankx to all people who helped me...
the prb was to not input the passphrass, wep 128 passphrass, but to put it using wep64/128bit ASCII.
