I am an amateur radio hobbyist, and all my Motorola Radios require a serial interface to program. My only Windows machine is Vista 64-bit. Does anyone know where I can get a USB-to-Serial (DB9) adapter with 64-bit Vista driver support? You'd be helping me out big time if you know where to get one. Thanks

According to the first review this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/USB-RS232-Converter-Cable/dp/B00077DJIQ) works fine with Vista.

Do you think it has Vista 64-bit support? I do not have a copy of the 32-bit edition.

Edit: FYI there is a "p" missing in the subdirectory of the URL in your sig.

I'm not sure, I've only got 32 bit Vista myself. I'd need to check further.

Thx for telling about the link, the forum logged me out after I changed it.:)

No problem. If you find out let me know. I'm really behind on reprogramming all my radios :(

I found this (http://www.usbnow.co.uk/a8/64_Bit_VISTA_PC%27s_and_the_RS232_Multi_Port_Adapt ers/article_info.html) which apparently has a Vista 64 driver. You may find it cheaper elsewhere.

Apparently Windows Update for 32 bit Vista installs many other adapters without problems, this is not the case for 64 bit Vista.

Thank you. If I can't find a cheaper one, then I'll order one of these. $20 isn't too bad for a cable to program several $600 radios ;)
