Dapper has Asterik-1.2.0.dfsg-3 (http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/comm/asterisk)

I would like to compile and install Asterisk v1.2.1 on Ubuntu/Breezy. While the libraries for these Asterisk requirements are in the distro:

# ncurses, and associated -devel
# openssl, and associated -devel
# zlib, and associated -devel

The associated devel libraries are not. I am accustomed to YaST/SuSE, so trying to get my head around apt-get and associated packge managers under Debian/Ubuntu. Where/how do I go about getting these packages from within the package managers?

*UPDATE*

Found a solution that I documented here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+on+Ubuntu+Breezy+%28v5.10%29
