wireless is on but cant download any page!

I am desperate.... I have Ubuntu 7.0 Gutsy and I am using an belkin usb wirless adaptor. When I was connected to unsecured wireless there was no problems but now that i have a secured one It just doesnt download anything. the network manager says it received 70% of the signal and I get to log in on yahoo messenger and receive messages but 1/20 of the messages I send acturaly arrive and when i try opening websites on firefoks it hungs up on looking for and then says the connection has reset and I cant browse anything or conect to msn ore anything else. dunno what to do!!!!! Please help !!1

This might seem like a bit of overkill -- but why don't you just upgrade your system to hardy 8.04? With me the upgrade fixed TKIP problems that I was having with network manager applet.

it might be a stupid question but, by upgrading, would it delete all the files i have ?

it could simply be a DNS problem.. try changing DNS servers to opendns.their ips are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
