Need some advice on configuring

Hi all,

I am new to gnome and debian-based systems... so I am needing badly some advice to configure my login-screens and the splashscreen.

Would anyone be friendly enough to tell me how I could manage to have other screens than the default?

Here (http://art.gnome.org/faq.php) are instructions on installing different themes, icon sets, splash screens, GDM (login screen) themes, etc. That site also has a few for download. Another good site for themes, etc. is gnome-look.org (http://gnome-look.org/).
