I went to system--preferences--advanced desktop effects settings and checked the "desktop cube" box and the "cube rotate" box. Then I can't go any further, I don't know how to bring up the cube at all and when I use the scroll thing on my mouse it just flips the whole page over (like flipping a piece of paper) so I only have 2 work spaces. Please help?

The cube is achieved by holding down the ctrl+alt keys and left click button on the mouse - now move the mouse.

See the Compiz link in my sig.

Hi
You have to enable "Cube Reflection and Deformation" as well in ccsm,in addition to what you already have done. To get cube, deformation has to be set as "none"(see the Attachment).
To get transparent cube, Opacity has to be 0 under transparent cube tab(see the Attachment) HTH.
PS: Transparency opacity can be adjusted to your liking and not necessarily 0(You can have different transparency values for during rotation and not rotating.

hi,

just increase the number of desktops. your default is 2, thats why it rotates like a paper.

make it 4, then youll have a cube.
i cant remember, iam on xp now, but right click the desktop on panel, increase "rows" guess.

Ok, thanks to you all i have the cube BUT, the cube just goes into a black backround, not a smaller cube over my current wallpaper like in this video:
